Spirals Within

Acrylics on canvas, digital embellishment. Roughly 4'x4' print of the black lines, which were a scan of a pencil sketch. I then applied a wash of acrylics followed by several coats of Bulldog clear spray. I used hot-glue to roughly follow the flow of the lines, then painted the whole thing over with a a nice solid painting of acrylics. Removed the hot-glue (a somewhat time-consuming process and hell on the fingers), and voilà, a wonderful texture. The final piece is an edited picture of the canvas with the original black lines digitally composited, as well as some extra colored lines to help make the black stand out and brighten the piece a bit.
